A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced IT Support Technical Manager / MSP Tech Manager to join a well-established national IT Support and Telecoms Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in the Liss area.

The Role – Tech Manager (MSP)

As Tech Manager, you will lead and develop a team of IT technicians while maintaining hands-on responsibility for client IT environments. This role is ideal for an ambitious IT Support Manager or Senior Engineer who enjoys leadership, technical problem-solving, and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of IT support technicians, including workload planning, scheduling, performance management, and service quality.

  • Oversee client IT infrastructure including servers, networks, hardware, software, and cloud services, ensuring security, stability, and performance.

  • Own the technical onboarding and offboarding of MSP clients, including migrations, documentation, and transition into managed support.

  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues across all client accounts.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients using a consultative, service-led approach.

  • Deliver high-quality remote, telephone, and on-site IT support when required (company pool vehicle provided).

  • Ensure SLA compliance and consistently high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Monitor team performance against KPIs, producing reports and insights to drive continuous improvement.

  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and MSP best practices, providing training and guidance to the technical team.

Skills & Experience Required

  • 5+ years’ experience within an IT Managed Services / MSP environment.

  • Strong technical background supporting multiple client infrastructures and on-site locations.

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to lead by example.

  • Solid hands-on experience with Microsoft Server environments (2003 onwards).

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365, including administration, implementation, and tenant-to-tenant migrations.

  • ITIL v4 certification or strong working knowledge of IT service management principles.

  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend client sites as required.

  • Salary: £45,000–£55,000 per annum + bonus (negotiable depending on experience)
