Senior DevOps Engineer

We have partnered with a leading specialist technology firm at the forefront of the trading and financial technology sector. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join their UK DevOps team, supporting and enhancing a high-performance trading platform.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled DevOps professional who can work autonomously while collaborating closely with engineering and operations teams in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support, maintain, and optimise a low-latency trading platform

• Work across DevOps, systems, and infrastructure within a production environment

• Automate operational tasks using scripting and tooling

• Collaborate with development teams to improve system reliability, scalability, and performance

Essential Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a DevOps, IT Operations, Linux Systems Engineering, System Administration, or Network Engineering role

• Strong experience with Python and shell scripting (3+ years)

• Solid knowledge of Linux-based environments

• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team

Desirable Skills

• Experience with FIX, ITCH, or OUCH protocols (highly advantageous)

• Familiarity with C++

• Background working in trading, financial services, or low-latency systems

Salary & Benefits

• Salary up to £90,000 per annum, dependent on experience
