Senior Fullstack Engineer – Fintech Scale-Up

Tech Stack: Java | Spring | Angular | Azure
Location: London (Hybrid – 2–3 days per week)
Package: £85,000–£95,000 + 20% bonus

A fast-growing fintech scale-up partnering with major banks to deliver modern business banking platforms. Their products support thousands of businesses, combining the agility of a scale-up with the stability and complexity of enterprise financial systems.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to help build and scale core banking platforms using Java-based microservices. You’ll take ownership of key components, work closely with experienced engineers, and help deliver high-performance, secure financial solutions at scale.

This is a hands-on role with real influence over architecture, quality, and engineering standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop Java microservices using Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA

  • Build cloud-native solutions on Azure, leveraging containerisation and modern DevOps practices

  • Develop and expose RESTful APIs integrated with banking and financial platforms

  • Deliver full-stack features using Angular

  • Champion CI/CD, TDD/BDD, and engineering best practices

  • Optimise systems for high throughput, resilience, and availability

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Software Engineer with strong Java/J2EE expertise (Java 8+, Spring, Hibernate)

  • Solid front-end experience with Angular (React experience also considered)

  • Experience building microservices-based systems in the cloud (AWS or Azure)

  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes

  • Background in fintech or other regulated environments is highly desirable
