About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Data Engineer to join a small, ambitious Data & Analytics team within a business undergoing an exciting period of transformation. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible impact in a team that champions innovation, modern data practices, and forward-thinking solutions.
You’ll be part of a close-knit, collaborative team, making this role ideal for someone seeking their next permanent position with clear long-term progression. There is strong potential to grow into a Principal-level role within 2–3 years.
This is not a traditional data engineering role. The team is actively modernising its data platform using Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and Synapse, with a clear roadmap to embed AI and advanced analytics into core business processes. You’ll play a key role in shaping this journey—driving innovation, influencing best practices, and redefining how data is used across the organisation.
What You’ll Do
-
Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and scalable data solutions
-
Collaborate closely with stakeholders and analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions
-
Support business-as-usual data operations while contributing to platform modernisation initiatives
-
Explore and implement new capabilities within Microsoft Fabric, moving beyond traditional BI approaches
-
Mentor and collaborate with junior team members, encouraging growth and knowledge sharing
-
Help elevate data maturity across the organisation, including supporting AI and advanced analytics initiatives
Who You Are
-
A mid-level Data Engineer with experience building data pipelines in a cloud environment (Azure preferred)
-
Proficient in SQL, Python, and modern data engineering tools
-
Curious and enthusiastic about exploring new technologies, particularly Microsoft Fabric
-
Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team where impact and ownership matter
-
Strong communicator with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels
-
Seeking a permanent role that offers career progression, responsibility, and meaningful impact
-
Able to balance BAU responsibilities with innovation and longer-term strategic projects
This role is ideal for a Data Engineer ready to take the next step in their career within a supportive, high-impact environment.
