Full Stack Developer - Hybrid - Various Locations

Locations: Bristol, London, Manchester or Cambridge
Salary: £70,000 – £120,000 (dependent on experience and clearance)

We’re looking for a Full Stack Developer to join a growing public sector delivery team, building secure, high-impact digital services across Defence and Security.

This is a rare opportunity to apply your engineering expertise to mission-critical government programmes, working on projects that genuinely matter. You’ll operate in an agile environment, contributing across the full software development lifecycle—from solution design through to secure deployment.

You’ll be part of a collaborative engineering team, working closely with technical leads, delivery managers, and stakeholders to design and deliver scalable, secure solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, develop, and deploy secure, high-performance web applications for government and national security clients

• Contribute across the entire SDLC, from requirements and design through to production support

• Build responsive, accessible user interfaces using modern front-end technologies

• Develop scalable server-side services using appropriate frameworks and languages

• Design and maintain RESTful APIs to enable integration across platforms

• Apply secure coding practices and support compliance with government security standards

• Participate in security reviews and support the remediation of vulnerabilities

• Translate technical and business requirements into clear delivery plans and production-ready code

• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

• UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance

• Strong front-end experience with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript

• Hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js

• Back-end development experience using Node.js, Python, or Java

• Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams

• A flexible, adaptable approach and comfort working in fast-paced environments

Desirable Experience

• Exposure to public sector systems, processes, or regulatory frameworks

• Knowledge of accessibility standards and UX best practices for government services

• Experience designing and maintaining well-documented REST APIs

• Familiarity with secure development practices and government data handling requirements
