IT Administrator

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on IT Administrator to support and maintain IT systems for our client based in Saffron Walden. This site-based role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and is comfortable owning both day-to-day support tasks and broader system improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy software, manage user accounts, and apply system policies across the network.

• Install, configure and maintain hardware, software, networking and application components.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software, hardware, and network connectivity.

• Oversee data storage, backups, and recovery processes.

• Replace, repair, or upgrade outdated or faulty equipment.

• Identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to enhance system performance.

• Maintain strong security standards and support ongoing cyber-security initiatives.

• Create and update documentation, processes, and internal workflows.

• Provide first-line technical support to staff across the organisation.

Requirements

• Previous experience in an IT Support or IT Administrator role.

• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.

• Understanding of networking fundamentals.

• Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and software.

• Awareness of cyber-security best practices and data protection principles.

• Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.

• Ability to work on-site at least 4 days per week.

• Relevant IT qualifications or certifications are advantageous.
