Our fast-growing AI client based in Saffron Walden is seeking a talented Web Designer & Developer to help shape and deliver their digital presence. This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated recent graduate with a passion for both creative design and hands-on development. You will be responsible for building visually striking websites, developing intuitive front-end experiences, and producing a wide range of digital content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build website pages, templates, and UI components using HTML, CSS, and modern web standards.

  • Maintain and update websites through CMS platforms such as WordPress or Joomla.

  • Create wireframes, mock-ups, and layout concepts to deliver engaging, user-friendly designs.

  • Produce digital graphics, artwork, and visual assets using Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

  • Support the creation of 3D, motion graphics, video, and podcast content for marketing initiatives.

  • Coordinate domain management, hosting, and DNS configuration in collaboration with the IT team.

  • Oversee website testing, QA processes, and ensure compliance with accessibility and privacy regulations.

  • Analyse site performance, monitor user behaviour, and apply SEO best practices.

  • Work closely with internal teams on marketing campaigns and liaise with external creative partners as needed.

Requirements

Essential

  • Strong skills in HTML, CSS, and experience working with at least one CMS platform (e.g., WordPress, Joomla).

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) for producing high-quality digital visuals.

  • Ability to create polished, professional graphics, including image retouching and enhancement.

  • Highly organised with strong multitasking ability and a consistent record of meeting deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable working both independently and within a small, agile team.

  • Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Desirable

  • Experience with 3D design tools such as Blender or similar platforms.

  • Familiarity with video editing and podcast production workflows.

  • Knowledge of Desktop Publishing (DTP) tools for layout and print design.

  • Understanding of web accessibility standards and GDPR/privacy compliance.

  • Awareness of SEO techniques, analytics tools, and approaches to improving site performance.

  • Basic understanding of JavaScript or modern front-end frameworks.
