About the Role
We’re partnering with a Manchester-based organisation seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to support security architects and project teams across a range of exciting initiatives. This position offers excellent training, clear progression pathways, and the opportunity to develop your skills across project delivery, security design, and architecture.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring solutions are built securely from the ground up, implementing security controls, and embedding security best practice within Agile and DevOps environments.
Key Responsibilities

Work closely with security architects and project teams to review designs, identify risks, and apply security best practices

Deploy and configure security controls across project and operational environments

Configure assets in a multi-cloud environment

Translate architectural designs into actionable security engineering tasks

Integrate security into Agile and DevSecOps workflows

Ensure solutions follow secure-by-design principles and take an active role in implementing the required controls

Stay up to date with emerging security trends and assess their potential impact on the organisation

Apply foundational security principles to new technologies while supporting business objectives
What We’re Looking For
-
Experience in project-focused security engineering
-
Strong, practical understanding of cloud security (Azure or AWS preferred)

Knowledge of architecture and secure-by-design principles
-
Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels
-
Experience integrating security into Agile and DevSecOps processes

Exposure to Tanium is beneficial
-
Experience with tools such as EDR, XDR, firewalls, WAF, and email security (e.g., CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, Microsoft Defender)

Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, including configuration and data integration

Understanding of cloud, network, and endpoint security across Windows, Linux, and macOS
