Our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Trainer / IT Training Professional to join their team and lead the design, development, and delivery of high-quality end-user software training across the organisation.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying skills gaps and training requirements through a comprehensive Software Training Needs Analysis (TNA). You will design and deliver engaging, up-to-date training programmes, materials, and documentation to ensure all users can confidently and effectively use business-critical software.

You will be comfortable delivering training using a variety of methods, including classroom-based sessions, one-to-one coaching, and virtual webinars. A key part of the role will involve reviewing and evaluating training effectiveness, analysing feedback, and producing reports that highlight strengths, areas for improvement, and future training needs.

The role is varied and will cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • Core desktop applications, including Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)

  • New software implementations and in-house enterprise systems

  • UK GDPR and Data Protection, online safety, and IT security best practices

Skills & Experience

We are looking for an individual with proven experience in designing and delivering software training to end-users, with a strong understanding of the full training lifecycle — from Training Needs Analysis and course design through to delivery and evaluation.

You will be confident training small and large groups, across a range of departments and seniority levels, using diverse learning materials such as user guides, video tutorials, e-learning modules, and interactive workshops.

About You

  • Proven experience in a software training, IT training, or learning & development role

  • Strong understanding of Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and training evaluation methodologies

  • Confident presenter with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Able to adapt training delivery to different learning styles and unexpected challenges

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in IT, Education, or Learning & Development

  • Enthusiastic, organised, and committed to delivering engaging and effective learning experiences
