About the Organisation
A well-established and rapidly growing multi-academy trust is seeking an experienced IT Engineer to join its supportive and collaborative IT team. The trust now consists of approximately 40 academies across the North of England, including both primary and secondary schools, following continued expansion and the opening of new sites.

The Role
This IT Engineer job will be based primarily at a secondary school in North Manchester, with additional support provided to nearby primary schools. Reporting to the Regional IT Manager, you will become a key member of the regional IT support team, delivering high-quality technical support to both staff and students.
Key Responsibilities
As an IT Engineer / IT Support Engineer in an education environment, your duties will include:

Providing 1st and 2nd line IT support to teaching staff and pupils

Maintaining and supporting IT hardware and software across multiple school sites

Installing, configuring and supporting PCs, laptops, printers, servers and AV equipment
-
Supporting educational technologies, including interactive whiteboards and classroom AV systems
-
Working closely with teaching staff to advise on effective use of IT in the classroom
-
Assisting with network, server and cloud platform support, including basic diagnostics
-
Supporting network cabling and broadband connectivity
-
Participating in IT projects and rollouts of new technologies alongside central IT teams
This is a varied and hands-on IT role offering exposure across multiple areas of education IT support.
Skills & Experience Required
To be successful in this IT Engineer position, you should have:
-
Proven experience in an IT Support or IT Engineer role
-
Ideally, previous experience within the education sector (school, college or multi-academy trust)
-
Strong customer service skills and a proactive, solution-focused approach
-
A genuine interest in supporting technology that enhances teaching and learning
-
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (travel between Manchester sites required)
